A day in Satigny

On June 21, 2026, La Classique Genevoise started in Satigny, on a loop course with a neutralised start, peloton racing, timing and a finish with an announcer. Two formats were open to women: the 50 km and the 80 km.

Sofia on the podium

Sofia, vice-president of FFGVA, rode in the colours of her club R.A.G.E - Cycling. She finished 2nd in the women’s 80 km in 2h20'29", just 13 seconds ahead of 3rd place.

The unexpected

Giulia was registered for the 80 km, but ended up riding the 50 km, which she finished in 2h09. The timing left her down as a non-finisher on the 80 km, so her time is not in the official ranking.

Caroline took a roundabout the wrong way round and only found out after the finish: she was disqualified. One more lesson: at a roundabout, watch where the peloton goes.

A huge thank you

Monica and Erika came especially to hand us bottles all along the course: without them, the 80 km would have been a lot drier. Dune and Livia arrived late and could only cheer Sofia on with water on her very last lap. Dune had also brought cool packs to put on our backs after the ride: they saved Sofia.
